Description
By analysing a wide range of markers, this screening provides valuable insight into how your body responds to training, stress and recovery demands.
Our Sports Performance Blood Screening + ECG is a comprehensive preventative health panel designed for athletes and active individuals who want to optimise performance, recovery and overall physical health. By analysing a wide range of markers, this screening provides valuable insight into how your body responds to training, stress and recovery demands.
The panel assesses blood and oxygen-carrying capacity through a full blood count and iron status, helping to identify anaemia or iron deficiency that can impact endurance and energy. Nutritional markers, including vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and total antioxidant status, support muscle function, bone strength and recovery.
It also evaluates thyroid and stress hormones, such as TSH, FT3, FT4, cortisol and DHEA-S, which play key roles in metabolism, energy production and training adaptation. Male and female hormone markers are included to support hormonal balance, strength, recovery and overall wellbeing.
To support cardiovascular fitness and long-term health, the screening includes advanced heart and lipid markers, inflammation indicators, and a cardiovascular risk score. Liver and kidney function, blood sugar regulation, and urinalysis provide further insight into metabolic health and hydration status.
Finally, the panel reviews muscle, joint and bone health, including creatine kinase, myoglobin, calcium and phosphate, helping to detect excessive muscle breakdown, support injury prevention and guide recovery strategies.
The ECG is a quick, non-invasive test that records the heart’s electrical activity. It helps detect irregular rhythms and underlying conditions early, providing reassurance, supporting safe exercise, and enabling timely medical guidance before symptoms appear.
Our clients will have the opportunity to consult with our cardiologist Dr Wisam Khider if he determines after reviewing the ECG a further review is necessary.
This screening is ideal for recreational athletes, competitive sportspeople and anyone training regularly who wants a proactive, data-driven approach to improving performance and reducing injury risk.
